The third bout on the ION broadcast for the preliminary UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch card was Spencer Fisher vs. Ross Pearson. Fisher walked into the bout barely eeking out a win over Curt Warbarton in his previous UFC outing. Ross Pearson was coming off a loss to Cole Miller and desperately needed a rebound.

ROUND 1 - Fisher is standing southpaw with Pearson in an orthodox stance. Fisher with the center of the cage and Pearson moving on the outside. With two minutes in, neither fighter has landed anything significant. Left hand now from Pearson. Fisher catches a kick an uses it to transition to a takedown. Pearson attempts an arm bar, misses, but stands and attempts a takedown of his own. Inside leg kick for Pearson. Hard inside leg kick now for Fisher. Fisher showing a ton of movement, but doesn’t seem to have punching range. Knee for Fisher. Right hand for Pearson.

ROUND 2 - Right hand hook lands for Fisher. Now a straight left. Jab from Pearson parried by Fisher. Pearson lands a body kick. Right hand counter finds the mark for Pearson. Outside leg kick from Pearson. Left straight from Fisher finds the mark. Body kick with a one-two behind it lands for Pearson. Two straight lefts land for Fisher. Pearson lands a beautiful right hand. Inside shovel punch with the left also finds the mark for the Brit. And a right...and another right.

ROUND 3 - Right hand winging misses for Pearson. Pearson pushes Fisher against the fence and gets an excellent single leg against the fence. Fisher, however, stands. Both fighters trade hooks. Hard left hand for Fisher. Leaping left hook for Pearson. Without striking first, Pearson shoots and gets stuffed. Another hard left straight for Fisher. Pearson fires out a hand combination with an outside leg kick, all of which land. Hard body kick by Pearson. Left straight for Fisher misses and Pearson lands a left straight. Pearson catches an outside kick and puts Fisher on the mat. But Pearson lets him up and now the fighters clinch, Pearson landing a single out of half guard.
