UFC 128 Results: Jim Miller Dominates Kamal Shalorus En Route To Knockout

The third fight on the UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones broadcast is Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus. Shalorus is making his UFC debut after four fights in the WEC. Miller, the hometown favorite, is coming off a great win over Charles Oliveira. Miller needs a dominant performance to move up the ranks towards a title shot against Frankie Edgar.

The referee in charge of the action is Kevin Mulhall.

ROUND 1 - Miller comes out hard firing straight punches and leg kicks. Miller standing southpaw while Shalorus standing orthodox, swinging wild punches. Outside leg kick for Shalorus. Flying knee from Miller gets turned into a single leg dump from Shalorus. Miller jumps back to his feet. Head kick from Miller nearly lands flush. Body kick from Miller lands and he jumps for a guillotine, but misses it. Shalorus works from on top. Right hand for Shalrous lands, but so does Miller’s plus a head kick.

ROUND 2 - Hard outside leg kick for Shalorus after the fighters exchange hand combos. Easy single leg while Miller attempts flying triangle. Miller stands up immediately. Well timed shot from Miller gets Shalorus to the mat and in the scramble takes his back immediately. Miller gets a semi-tight body triangle but without any underhooks. He can’t finish Shalorus, but clearly wins the round.

ROUND 3 - Hard left from Miller finds the mark. And another. Hard knee to the body of Shalorus for Miller. Shalorus stuffs a quick shot from Miller. Shalorus has a shot stuffed and tries to throw Miller by, but nothing doing. Hard uppercut from Miller followed by a jumping drops Shalorus. Hard punches follow and referee Mulhall stops the fight.
