Stone Cold Steve Austin Returns To Wrestlemania

If the WWE wants to court former professional wrestling fans from the late 90’s and early 00’s to watch Wrestlemania 27, mission accomplished.

The Undertaker, HHH and The Rock were already confirmed participants in the WWE’s annual mega-event on April 3rd. In order to kick things up one more notch, Vince McMahon has gotten Stone Cold Steve Austin to return as well, which was announced on Raw, Monday night.

Austin will participate as a “Special Guest Referee,” and I think we can all agree that he is the perfect person to take on a role that requires impartiality, adherence to the rules and remaining sober for the duration of the job.

Now if they can convince Val Venis to return, 17-year-old me will be making his PPV purchase.* Plus, something tells me Road Dog is available, so, let’s send him an email as well.

*I’m assuming (and hoping) that Val Venis is not still wrestling mid-level matches for the WWE.
