Scott Coker 3 secs, “The number 1 announcement is Fedor Emelianenko’s next fight will be confirmed for July 30th at the Sears Center in Chicago against Dan Henderson and that fight will be at a catch weight of 22o maximum....
“Dan told me, he said ‘I’ll fight him at any weight, anytime, any place, just lemme fight Fedor.’ So Dan’s really the one that pushed to fight Fedor. He oes ‘I’ve always wanted to fight him. I think I can beat him, so let’s get it on.’ But then the managers get involved and the consultants get involved, then you start talking to Vadim and the M-1 guys. So, that’s the weight that everybody agreed upon...”
“Fedor is a heavyweight. so to ask him to drop to 205 - I think his last fight he weighed 228 or 230, that’s quite a drop. We really didn’t ask him that because we feel like he’s a heavyweight, but Dan was more than willing to come up, so, that’s how this fight came about.”
