After the final bell in the 12 round fight between Manny Pacquiao and “Sugar” Shane Mosley it was clear that it would be Manny Pacquiao who got his hand raised. Shane Mosley looked every bit of 39 years old in his flat out inability to pull the trigger at any point in the fight. Manny Pacquiao showed his trademark aggression throughout the bout but the toughness of Mosley allowed him to survive the full twelve rounds.
Pacquiao Vs. Mosley Results: Manny Pacquiao Cruises To Decision Win Over Shane Mosley
After a very even first round it was Pacquiao who was able to start to take over. His signature moment came in round three when he landed a hard two punch combination that sent Mosley tumbling to the mat. Shane rose and managed to survive and get back to his corner, but from that point on he had no ability (or willingness) to let his hands go.
Mosley covered up for the majority of the fight from the third round forward, avoiding getting significantly hurt again but only managing to score a small handful of meaningful punches. In round 10 the two men clinched and Mosley clearly shoved Pacquiao to the mat, still the referees scored it as a knockdown. The missed call only served to anger Pacquiao who spent the rest of the fight charging forward in an attempt to get the knockout. Despite his attempts and a crowd chanting “Knock him out!” Mosley survived to the final bell to hear scorecards of 119-108, 120-108 and 120-107 all read for Manny Pacquiao.
We will have much more on the event in the coming hours and days including fallout and what should be next for both men.
