UFC 131 Results: Sam Stout Knocks Yves Edwards Out Cold

Sam Stout and Yves Edwards headline the Spike TV broadcast in a lightweight bout. Sam Stout is 5-5 in the UFC, and defeated Paul Taylor by split decision at UFC 121. Yves Edwards is 2-0 in his return to the UFC, having defeated John Gunderson and Cody McKenzie. Our referee for this bout is "Big" John McCarthy.

ROUND 1 - Edwards starts with his patented squat. He comes out southpaw. Stout opens with punches that miss and a leg kick that lands. Stiff leg kick. Edwards slips a couple punches and counters with a straight left. Slips another and lands a two-punch combo. Stout with a right hand. Edwards blocks a head kick. Stout blocks one of his own. Edwards grabs a single. Struggle before Edwards puts Stout on the mat. Edwards working for a pass. Buries his head into Stout’s chest and throws right hands over. Left hand. Edwards controlling Stout. As I type that, Stout works to his feet. Two minutes to go. Short uppercut lands for Stout. Straight left for Yves. Front kick for Stout. Edwards just misses with a head kick. Loses his balance momentarily. Edwards slipping a lot of punches. Right hand lands, but Stout lands a left hook that crumples Edwards. Stout steps forward to followup, but sees Edwards is out cold and raises his hands to the air.
