ROUND 1 - Munoz opens with an inside leg kick. Maia lands some that sends Munoz hurt backwards. Very bizarre. Straight left from Maia. He lands another on the opposite side of the cage. Nice left-right from Maia. Maia pressing Munoz up against the fence. Knee to the midsection. And another to the thigh. Valel breaks them up. Maia landing at will from outside. Maia stepping forward with punches. Presses Munoz against the fence. They trade positions. Munoz pressing now. Maia with a knee to the midsection. Maia eats a shot, but lands two more in return. Munoz looking straight outclassed at this point. Munoz lands a left hook to stop Maia stepping in. Munoz stepping up the agression as the round winds down, but Maia is the one landing the more effective punches.

ROUND 2 - Munoz lands a big right and left that hurts Maia, who drops into a single leg. Munoz throwing with bad intentions to the body and thigh as he sprawls. Maia trying to pull guard. He does, but Munoz stands up. Maia stands and comes right out with punches. Maia dives in for a takedown. Munoz tries for a D’arce choke, which allows Maia to get on top. Scrambles ends with Munoz throwing a right hand. Maia dives back in. Munoz defends. Maia has him up against the fence. Munoz throwing thudding leather to the midsection. Maia scoots his hips out and pulls guard. Maia has double unders with full guard. Munoz throws a shot to the body. Back to the feet. Munoz grabs a single. He drops down. Maia drops for a guillotine, but Munoz slips out. Half-guard right up against the cage. Short punches from Munoz. Maia clasping around Munoz waist as he eats shots to the midsection. Thirty seconds to go. Valel breaks them up.

ROUND 3 - Handshake and hug to start the round gets the jeers from the Vancouver crowd. Body kick from Munoz. Maia catches Munoz with a right hand as Munoz steps in. Munoz shoots in, takes Maia down. Right back up. They exchanges punches. Munoz pressing him up against the fence with a single. Maia on top in a weird position. Munoz has the leg, but Maia looking to take the back. Maia with a crucifix, and cranking on the neck. Munoz explodes and spins out. Munoz with a single up against the fence. Maia reverses the position. Munoz has him up against the fence now. Trading punches. Valel breaks them up. Straight left lands for Maia. Follows with a head kick. Munoz answers with a kick to the body. Knee lands as Maia changes levels. Munoz throws him down and JUST misses a right hand. Maia lands a couple of knees to the midsection in the clinch. Tough round to score. They trade body kicks. Thirty seconds to go. Winging punches as the round ends.
