The main event of the night and airing on Showtime at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum is Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum. This is the last quarterfinal of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament. It's also, obviously, a heavyweight fight. This is also a rematch from their 2006 Open Weight Grand Prix in PRIDE. ROUND 2 - Werdum tries to clinch and both fighters knee each other. Trip takedown by Overeem throws Werdum to the mat. Werdum nearly gets a takedown, but Overeem scrambles to his feet. Werdum continuing to pull guard but getting nowhere. Left hook by Overeem. Overeem lands a crushing right hand, but Werdum pulls him into his guard. Overeem stands back out. Hard kneee from Overeem drops Werdum. Another hard knee from Overeem finds the mark. Now Overeem inside of Werdum’s guard.
