UFC On Versus 4 Fight Card: Nate Marquardt Not ‘Medically Cleared’, Brenneman To Face Story

UFC middleweight Nate Marquardt, who was set to make his welterweight debut against Rick Story in the main event of UFC on Versus 4 tomorrow night has not been 'medically cleared' by the Pennsylvania athletic commission, according to sources close to Marquardt. No details about the nature of the medical issue are known at this time. According to a report by MMA Junkie, welterweight Charlie Brenneman will face Story instead. The initial co-main event for this card, Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo, is now the main event.

This is the third opponent Brenneman has been scheduled to face on the UFC on Versus 4 fight card. He was originally scheduled to face Matt Riddle and then T.J. Grant, but both were forced out due to injury. Story himself served as replacement to face Marquardt, stepping in for Anthony Johnson.
