UFC 132 Fight Card: Cub Swanson Out With Injury

According to his personal Twitter feed, former WEC featherweight Cub Swanson is injured and can no longer compete at his previously scheduled bout at UFC 132. Swanson was scheduled to face Erik Koch in what would've been Swanson's UFC debut. As Swanson indicates on Twitter, his face was broken during training and needs time to heal before he can legally compete.

Here is the Tweet itself:

So unfortunately I am pulled out of my fight #ufc132 due to I broke the whole left side of my face:( http://yfrog.com/canbhxjless than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Favorite Retweet Reply

While the picture Swanson links isn’t gruesome, an orbital bone break is extraordinarily dangerous injury. Eye and eye socket damage as well as a brain injury are all possible to improperly treated orbital breaks.

Swanson’s injuries are covered by the UFC’s new accidental insurance policy, which was activated on June 1.
