TUF 13 Finale Results: Clay Harvison Squeaks Past Justin Edwards

The third fight of the night and airing on Facebook at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale is Clay Harvison vs. Justin Edwards. This is a welterweight fight, meaning 170lbs. Both Harvison and Edwards were cast members of this past season of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter. The referee in charge is Josh Rosenthal.

ROUND 1 - Both fighters standing orthodox. Edwards coming out strong and dives for a takedown. Harvison stops it and the two clinch along the fence. Sacrifice throw (lateral drop) from Edwards puts Harvison on the mat. Harvison escapes and the two resuming striking. Scoop single from Edwards puts Harvison back on the floor again. Harvison stands briefly, but Edwards drops levels and yanks Harvison’s legs out from under him. Harvison stands again and eats a knee from a front head lock by Edwards. Edwards eats a knee on a missed takedown, but resumes the approach and gets the takedown. Harvison gets his hips back and stands again, however. Missed head toss from results and Harvison’s bangs on him from on top. Edwards attempts a knee bar, but nothing doing. Edwards follows up and gets the takedown again. Harvison goes for an armbar by it was too high on Edwards’ elbow. Edwards attempts his own belly-down armbar, but can’t get it and Harvison is on top. Harvison jumps guillotine, but can’t get it. Edwards reverses as the round ends.

ROUND 2 - Edwards appears to be taking deep breaths. Both fighters exchanging, but neither landing much. Harvison stuffs a takedown attempt and the two jockey for position. Edwards drops levels again but is easily stuffed this time. Knee from the clinch from Edwards and a spinning back kick. Leaping right hand from Harvison and he stuffs a shot from Edwards in the center of the cage. Both fighters appear to be deeply fatigued now as they clinch against the fence. Hard left hand from Harvison. Spinning heel kick from Edwards misses.

ROUND 3 - Edwards eats a hard right hand to start the round. Wild punches from Harvison find the mark, but lacking authority. Harvison sprawls and stuffs an Edwards takedown. Outside trip from Harvison and he’s in half guard. Nice elbows and forearms over the top from Harvison as Edwards just lays there. Hard right hand again. Edwards postures for triangle, but he’s getting crushed by Harvison. Harvison sits out of the legs, moves to side control, but Edwards gets the fight to the floor. Edwards takes control now and runs the pipe on Harvison, sending him to the mat. Harvison stands after a failed guillotine attempt. Both fighters are completely exhausted. Double leg scoop by Edwards. Edwards goes for the back, but falls off. He regains control and gets one more takedown.
