Rally The Troops: Someone Must Kidnap Jimmie Johnson

It’s beginning to look like Jimmie Johnson may run away with the Chase yet again. Charlotte and Martinsville are two of his best tracks, and the guy already has a 36-point lead over Denny Hamlin.

↵If Johnson continues to build his lead, he might steamroll toward a fifth consecutive Cup championship. So what can be done?

↵My former University of Delaware professor, Bill Fleischman, has come up with a simple solution: Kidnap Johnson.

↵In Thursday’s edition of the Philadelphia Daily News, Fleischman says the kidnappers should not harm Johnson but just keep him safely stashed away until the Chase is over.

↵He writes of the proposed kidnapping:

↵↵Sorry, there will be no monetary compensation, unless I can steer a couple of million from one of those Nigerian bankers who keep e-mailing me. Your reward will be the gratitude of NASCAR fans who need another Chaser to topple Johnson.

↵↵Fleischman’s reasoning is that Johnson’s continued success is killing fan interest. You can read Fleischman’s full column by clicking here.
