But some things never change: Four-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson overtook Denny Hamlin after a second place finish and is now the Sprint Cup Series points leader during the Chase yet again.
Except for David Reutimann retaliating against Kyle Busch for an earlier spin, the race was mostly uneventful; there were only five cautions, a race record for the fewest.
