What Do Jamie McMurray, Justin Bieber and Kate Middleton Have in Common? Their Good Manners, Apparently

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing driver Jamie McMurray is one of the best-mannered individuals in the world, according to a ranking released Thursday.

↵The National League of Junior Cotillions put McMurray as No. 4 on its “Ten Best Mannered People of 2010” list, saying McMurray was being recognized “for the respect he has earned as a NASCAR driver.”

↵McMurray is not only the lone NASCAR driver on the list, but is one of only two sports figures in the entire top 10.

↵New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named No. 1 on the list, followed by Justin Bieber – yep, Justin Bieber – and soon-to-be princess Kate Middleton.

↵McMurray and the late Elizabeth Edwards round out the top five, followed by the Chilean Miners, Taylor Swift, Sandra Bullock, Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America” and Bill/Melinda Gates.

↵While McMurray is certainly one of the most polite NASCAR drivers, his inclusion on the list has to come as somewhat of a surprise just because he’s not as well known as the other names on the list.

↵Perhaps his emotional Daytona 500 comments in Victory Lane had something to do with getting the recognition. Either way, it’s nice to see one of NASCAR’s good guys be selected for this list.
