NASCAR is in line to receive some good publicity tonight when Camping World Truck Series driver Jennifer Jo Cobb appears on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.
Tune-In Alert: Jennifer Jo Cobb On ‘Anderson Cooper 360’ Tuesday
↵Cobb recently visited the show’s New York studios to film an episode about “extreme living” with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
↵The description of the program:
↵↵ Dr. Sanjay Gupta visits with one of NASCAR’s top female drivers to see how her body endures the life of a race car driver.
↵↵Sounds interesting, right?
↵“It was exciting to talk with Dr. Sanjay Gupta about extreme living,” Cobb said. “This was a great opportunity to discuss the lifestyle associated with a NASCAR driver. Most race fans only see what takes place at the race track. They don’t get to see what we’re like when we aren’t at a speedway.
↵“I get lots of questions about what I do in my spare time and what I enjoy doing when I’m not racing. Hopefully this will give the folks at home some insight into the sport, and what drivers are all about.”
↵Cobb had two top-15s this season and finished 17th in the point standings, which made her the highest-placing female in NASCAR history (among the top three series). Cobb is also one of the most active NASCAR drivers in social media with has nearly 9,000 combined followers between her Facebook and Twitter pages.
↵Obviously, it’s helpful to NASCAR any time one of its drivers appears in a positive light in a non-traditional media. But to have a female driver – who many people outside of the sport may not be aware of – should be extra good for publicity.
↵You can see for yourself tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern on CNN.
