NASCAR 2011: A Mid-Season Review

While there have been a number of surprises thus far in the 2011 season, there have also been a few disappointments, both for fans, the sport and for drivers. Not every season can be spectacular and for some, the first half of the 2011 season has been a bit of a disappointment.

Trevor Bayne Wins Daytona 500

While the official halfway point of the 2011 season passed two races ago at Kentucky Speedway, this off-week provides a nice break in the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. Teams have been busy making the necessary changes to race for a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, while drivers are making the most of their time away from the track.

This week we will be taking a look back at some of the highlights, lowlights and thrilling finishes of the first half of the 2011 season. We will also be looking ahead to the Race for the Chase and the final 10-race Chase itself.
