Odds: What Will Happen When Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson Meet In Watkins Glen NASCAR Nationwide Series Race?

With both Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson making rare appearances in this week’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race (Busch is subbing for Penske Racing teammate Brad Keselowski and Johnson is driving for Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s JR Motorsports team), the odds seem favorable that the two could mix it up following their Pocono disagreement.

Johnson, most recently seen yelling at Busch and then calling him a “crybaby,” would probably feel better about taking Busch out in a Nationwide race than in a Sprint Cup event that could threaten Johnson’s unprecedented run of championships.

How likely is it that the two will actually make contact in Saturday’s race at Watkins Glen? Here are some unscientific odds:

7:1 – Johnson and Busch race hard at the Glen but avoid further incident.

5:1 – Johnson and Busch never cross paths on the track all day; rivalry gets over-hyped.

14:1 – Johnson wrecks Busch as “payback” for Pocono.

5:2 – ESPN is at commercial when Johnson wrecks Busch.

3:2 – Regardless of what happens during the race, Busch takes verbal shot at Johnson/Hendrick Motorsports drivers in post-race interview.

4:1 – Busch screams at team on radio during the race.

7:2 – Busch wins the race after screaming at team.

100:1 – Johnson re-creates his infamous 2001 Watkins Glen crash.

6:1 – Brad Keselowski tweets a controversial opinion about the race while watching from his motorhome.

500:1 – Car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. yells at both Busch and Johnson for wrecking his JR Motorsports car.

2:1 – Busch blames the media for making rivalry with Johnson a “People magazine” story.
