‘Tits In The Pits?’ Starz Reportedly Considering NASCAR Drama About Female Owner

From the Department of Wild Ideas, we bring you Tits In The Pits – a NASCAR-themed drama reportedly being considered by the Starz network.

Apparently, the screenwriters behind the newly-released Friends With Benefits have pitched a pilot for a TV series about a female NASCAR owner “and her uphill race to secure corporate sponsors that insiders are describing it as a ‘red state Mad Men,’” reports the web site of New York magazine.

The series would be an hour-long drama focusing on a former NASCAR driver’s wife who starts her own team as a revenge move against her ex.

While we don’t doubt the topic would be interesting, the question is what kind of audience the show would attract to keep it on the air. For example: You wouldn’t think the audience that watches Mad Men would have all that much crossover with the NASCAR crowd.

So would NASCAR merely be used as the setting for the drama, or would it be geared toward NASCAR fans as well?

The show sounds as if it could appeal to two very different demographic groups, so it just might work if it can pull in some viewers from each one.
