NASCAR At New Hampshire Motor Speedway: Looking For Chase Magic At The Magic Mile
The Chase for the Sprint Cup continues this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with the Sylvania 300.

This will be the first return visit to a track in the Chase, and last time the Sprint Cup Series visited the “Magic Mile” it was Stewart-Haas Racing that dominated the weekend.
Ryan Newman led the field in qualifying, with Tony Stewart starting the day to his outside in second. Putting on a dominant performance, Newman finished the day right where he began – in first. Stewart scored the team’s first one-two finish with his impressive run as well.
Coming off Monday’s rain-delayed race at Chicagoland Speedway, Stewart-Haas Racing has momentum on its side as Stewart nabbed his first win of the season. The former champion was a factor in last year’s Chase race at New Hampshire, leading 100 laps, only to run out of fuel on the final lap.
With fuel mileage playing a factor in last year’s race, it would be no surprise if Sunday’s event was yet another fuel mileage duel to the end.
Denny Hamlin had a rough start to the Chase at Chicagoland, but holds the best average finish among active drivers at New Hampshire. Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch also took hits when they ran out of fuel at the end of Monday’s race, and each will be looking for some “magic” to get back in championship contention.
