NASCAR is holding an open test at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the next two days, marking the first opportunity for teams to test their 2013 “Gen 6” cars – the replacement for the “Car of Tomorrow” – under the new rules package.

More than a dozen drivers were expected to participate in the test, including 2012 Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth (driving for Joe Gibbs Racing for the first time) and Joey Logano (driving for Penske Racing for the first time).
Other drivers on track in the morning session so far have included Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Casey Mears and Aric Almirola.

Testing is free and open to the public. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both today and Wednesday. If you plan to attend, enter at Gate 5B.
