NASCAR Fontana Race Day Weather Update 2012: Halfway Is Now In Play
Over the last four hours, the rain to the west of Auto Club Speedway has been slow to move east. As of 1 p.m. EDT, the rain wasn’t even in Los Angeles – which is roughly 40 miles away – and the rain has been moving an estimated speed of around 10 mph. This opens up a window of an hour – maybe more – if the rain to the west doesn’t increase in area or doesn’t speed up.
Because there is now a legitimate window of time to go racing this afternoon, I think we have a 50-60 percent chance we get to halfway and anytime after that is bonus. Remember one lap past halfway makes this race official and no need to race on Monday.
