PHOTOS: NASCAR Launches Patriotic Paint Scheme Initiative For Charlotte, Daytona

NASCAR will give its race teams an option to decorate the rear spoiler and shark fin for the Coca-Cola 600 in May and the Daytona race in July, opening up an area of the car usually not used for paint schemes.

The reason is a newly announced initiative to promote patriotism and show support for military families over the summer months. Drivers who have already committed to running the red, white and blue paint schemes include Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Danica Patrick, Brad Keselowski and Greg Biffle.

In addition, teams across the Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series will have the option to run this logo in addition to patriotic paint schemes:
