Perhaps the best thing about NASCAR is not the racing itself, but the people in the sport who often go above and beyond to help others, do good deeds or simply show some kindness.
NASCAR Honor Roll: Recognizing Positive People In Racing
Our ongoing look at some of the great people and good deeds in NASCAR.

I’ve seen so many examples of those qualities while covering the sport. Whether it’s Carl Edwards stopping in his tracks to chat with a supporter at Talladega, ESPN’s Marty Smith coming to the aid of an injured fan at Sonoma, Jeff Burton volunteering to come to a tweetup or any number of impressive charity events put on by drivers’ foundations, positive things happen all the time.
Often, though, there’s no place to tell you about them. That’s why I decided to establish a “NASCAR Honor Roll,” where I’ll post about cool people doing cool stuff in the sport.
It doesn’t have to be a deed worthy of Mother Teresa to make the Honor Roll; it might just be a way to let you know about a story you might not hear otherwise.
