Coke 600 2012 Weather Forecast For Charlotte Motor Speedway: Isolated Storms Sunday

The weather forecast for NASCAR’s longest race -- the Coca-Cola 600 -- and today’s Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be mostly dry, hot and humid. There’s just the smallest threat of an isolated storm on Sunday.

High pressure will provide mostly sunny skies, hot temperatures and humid conditions for this afternoon’s Nationwide race. The high temperature will be 90 degrees.

By Sunday, subtropical storm Beryl will be working towards the north Florida coast. Tropical moisture associated with this system will try to work into the Carolinas during the day Sunday. There could be enough moisture to spark a few isolated storms Sunday afternoon and evening.

The threat of storms affecting for the Coca-Cola 600 is very low and seems very unlikely. I will be monitoring the radar Sunday afternoon and evening for any potential development.
