VIDEO: Conor Daly Survives Airborne Crash In Monaco GP3 Race

If you haven’t seen the video of GP3 driver Conor Daly going airborne at Monaco today, check out this replay.

It’s amazing to think he wasn’t injured and all of the safety workers escaped unharmed. Certainly, though, it was a close call as you can see by the video below:

Airborne crashes like that one are a rarity on a street circuit like Monaco. We’ve seen several big crashes coming out of the tunnel in recent years, though, primarily because that’s such a high-speed section of the course.

If you look closely, there are two safety workers in the tower. One of them inconceivably decides NOT to duck and simply freezes as the car flies toward their position. That person should probably visit some casinos this evening if possible.

The best part of the video is Daly’s reaction to the crash. After the car comes to a stop, Daly takes the time to put the steering wheel back on before climing out of his destroyed machine.

Crazy stuff.
