NASCAR At Loudon 2012: Weather Forecast And Weekend Schedule

Hot and humid weather is expected this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series races. There is just a chance of scattered showers and storms Sunday afternoon.

For the rest of the afternoon and Saturday the forecast is sunny, hot and humid. Highs this afternoon and Saturday for the Nationwide race will be in the low 90s. The forecast turns more complicated for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race.

Forecast models are disagreeing on where to place the bulk of the rain showers Sunday afternoon. Most are showing the rain and storms south of New Hampshire and Loudon. What we do know is a weak disturbance will slide in from the west on Sunday afternoon. With the air being warm and muggy, this is prime scenario for scattered showers and storms to form as the system moves through.

Without a firm grasp on where the bulk of the rain forms, it is hard to say how large of an impact this rain will have Sunday afternoon. At this point, I don’t anticipate a Monday race, but a rain delay at some point seems possible. The radar will need to be monitored Sunday afternoon.
