And the Thunder rolls: NASCAR Preseason Testing Underway at Daytona

The road to the Daytona 500 begins right now.

The brief NASCAR offseason ends today as most Sprint Cup Series teams will take part in a three-day drafting test session at Daytona International Speedway.

Teams will test from 9 a.m.-Noon and 1p.m-5 p.m. EST all day and several drivers and NASCAR officials will be made available to the media throughout the event.

Among those scheduled to speak on Thursday are Danica Patrick, Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowsk, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon and NASCAR officials John Darby and Robin Premberton. Saturday will see Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle share their preseason thoughts for the first time since the turn of the calendar.

NASCAR is offering streaming coverage of the morning sessions on SPEEDTV.com with the afternoon sessions airing on SPEED each day, starting at 1 p.m. The press conferences will also be available online.

Stay tuned for multiple updates throughout the next few days as drivers share their thoughts on the upcoming season.
