NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil has been arrested and charged with assault after a dispute with his wife, the Mooresville (N.C.) Police Department have confirmed to SB Nation.

NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil charged with domestic abuse and assault following a 911 call to his residence Tuesday night.


Mooresville police officers were called to the Kvapil residence after a 911 call Tuesday evening, following a dispute between Kvapil and his wife.
After conducting an investigation, police charged Kvapil, 37, with one count each of assault on a female and false imprisonment. He was taken to Iredell County Jail and held under a domestic hold before being released Wednesday on bond.
Currently the driver of the No. 93 Toyota for BK Racing, Kvapil and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Kelsey, Carson and Caden.
BK Racing posted a photo on Twitter of ribbons it had placed on its cars supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness earlier Wednesday afternoon, according to WBTV. The tweet has since been deleted following news of Kvapil’s arrest.
Kvapil has started 240 races in NASCAR’s premiere division with a best finish of sixth at Talladega Superspeedway (2008). He was also the 2003 Truck Series champion, amassing nine career wins in NASCAR’s No. 3 series.
