The list of the best-selling die-cast cars of 2013 has been released by Lionel NASCAR Collectables and to the shock of no one Dale Earnhardt Jr. was again ranked No.1.

No driver sold more die-cast cars in 2013 than Dale Earnhardt Jr., whose various paint schemes were the top three best-sellers.

In fact, he was so popular, replicas of his cars held the top three positions.
At the pinnacle of the rankings released Monday was Earnhardt’s customary No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet. Sitting second was his Diet Mountain Dew paint scheme, while No. 3 was a one-off Superman “Man of Steel” design NASCAR’s most popular driver sported at Michigan.
“Every year it holds true, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a fan favorite among collectors and fans who spend their hard-earned discretionary income on NASCAR merchandise,” said Howard Hitchcock, vice president and general manager of Lionel NASCAR Collectables. “His National/Guard Man of Steel die-cast was our best-selling special paint scheme of the year, and his primary paint schemes outpaced the field by a wide margin.”
Rounding out the top five best-sellers was Tony Stewart’s Bass Pro Shops No. 14 Chevrolet and Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 AARP/Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet. Gordon’s Cromax Pro paint scheme, which was new this season after its parent company purchased DuPont, was the eighth most popular die-cast.
A little bit of a surprise was that Danica Patrick didn’t have a car ranked higher. Her bright green No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet placed sixth overall.
One of the best-selling die-casts featured the images of the guys from the popular TV show “Duck Dynasty.” This car was raced by Clint Bowyer at Watkins Glen and marked the first time he’s ever made the year-end list.
“This car was a bona fide hit with NASCAR fans,” Hitchcock said. “Bowyer and Duck Dynasty are a perfect match and that combination resulted in one of the most sought after collectibles of the year.”
