Brandon Davis said late last season he wanted to build his fledgling NASCAR team around a young driver. And he is doing just that and then some, as Swan Racing announced Tuesday it was adding another car and would field two full-time teams in 2014 for drivers Parker Kligerman and Cole Whitt.
Parker Kligerman, Cole Whitt to drive for Swan Racing full-time
Swan Racing is expanding and will run two cars full-time in 2014 for drivers Parker Kligerman and Cole Whitt.

Kilgerman, 23, and Whitt, 22, each made select starts for Swan Racing last season and both will compete for Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year honors next year. Kligerman ran in two races with a best finish of 18th, while Whitt started seven races posting a best result of 27th.
Hiring a pair of drivers with limited experience is an audacious move for a still young team, but one Davis is confident his organization is prepared for.
“When we launched Swan Racing we pledged to race hard every lap of every race,” Davis said. “That’s what we have done and what we will continue to do. We learned a lot this year and now is the time to plan for the long term future by adding more resources to be more competitive.”
No car numbers, crew chiefs or sponsorship details were announced, but the team plans to again field Toyota Camrys. But to coincide with its expansion plans, Swan Racing is moving into a new 25,000-foot facility.
“This is an important moment for this young team,” Swan Racing general manger Bray Pemberton said. “Things are falling into place and we are really looking forward to 2014.”
