NASCAR’s biggest event, the Daytona 500, will officially kickoff the NASCAR season on Sunday, Feb. 24, with a woman on the pole for the first time ever in Spring Cup history.

NASCAR’s biggest race will get underway on Sunday, Feb 24 at 1 p.m., with a woman on the pole for the first-time ever in Sprint Cup history.


Danica Patrick became the first woman ever to qualify on the pole for any NASCAR event, and she happened to do it for NASCAR’s biggest stage. Patrick’s pole undoubtedly will attract more attention to NASCAR’s biggest race.
Festivities at Daytona Motor Speedway will start in earnest around 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 24. Country music star Justin Moore will be the first musician to perform at Daytona Motor Speedway on Sunday, and will do so at the Crown Royal display in Midway.
Chelsea Bain will also perform starting at 10 a.m. at Midway, but will do so from the Coke stage. Greg Bates will come on stage at 11:30 and will perform until roughly 12:45 p.m. at Midway.
At 12:20, the Budweiser Pre-Race Show will get underway. The Zac Miller Band will kick off the show, before giving way to driver introductions. Daytona Motor Speedway will begin introductions at 12:40 p.m.
Patrick will see the green flag wave at 1 p.m., when the race gets underway.
Fans attending the Daytona 500 can begin filing into the Daytona Motor Speedway at 7:30 a.m. Grandstand gates will open at 8 a.m.
