Last night’s NASCAR Wheelen All-American Series finish between Kyle Larson and C.E. Falk was just the opening act of the Battle at the Beach as the Wheelen Modified Tour and K&N Pro Series divisions are set to take center stage in the program’s main event.
Kyle Larson attempts clean sweep of NASCAR Battle at the Beach on Tuesday night

Larson won last night, albeit in controversial fashion, but has to get right back in the driver’s seat this afternoon as he is looking to sweep all three short track divisions competing at Daytona during the NASCAR Battle, driving in a Modified and Pro Series car at the temporary .4-mile Speedway.
Larson is the defending K&N Pro Series East Champion but has never driven a Modified prior to practice on Monday.
Regardless, Larson posted the fastest lap (77.603 miles per hour) after turning 47 laps in the first Modified Tour practice session. He turned 42 laps and was 15th fastest on the speed chart (71.087) during Pro Series practice, and he won his 25-lap qualifying heat and the feature on Monday. In all, it’s been a productive week for Larson who has won five of his eight starts this season, including races in ARCA, Late Models and USAC Midgets.
“It’s been a great week so far . . . well, it’s been a great 2013 so far,’’ said Larson, who will also make his first Nationwide Series start at Daytona International Speedway in Saturday’s DRIVE4COPD 400.
The Pro Series race will also feature the other regional champion, West titlist Dylan Kwasniewski who is expected to chase the East Series championship in 2013. His teammate and 2011 West Series Champion Greg Pursley is also entered into the field and has been amongst the fastest in practice.
