Daytona 500 online: How to follow if you’re away from your TV

On Sunday, the Daytona 500 will kick off the NASCAR season proper, and it promises to be as historic as any Great American Race before it. It will feature the new Generation Six cars and Danica Patrick has the spotlight as the first woman to start from the top spot in the race’s history.

Jeff Gordon will start alongside Patrick, and then Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch have the second row after winning the Budweiser Duels.

Unfortunately, there is no legal live streaming options out there for you, but it could be an opportunity to check out NASCAR’s RaceView.

RaceView creates a virtual 3D video of the track and the cars and provides their exact positioning throughout the race. It also includes in-car audio and national radio broadcasts. It’s not quite watching the race live, and more like somebody playing a NASCAR video game, but the data presented to you is accurate to the race.

On top of that, there’s real-time stats, pit information, telemetry data and more. Even if you’re watching at home, RaceView might be a nice supplement.

There’s also NASCAR Mobile, which comes with plenty of audio and leaderboards for your viewing pleasure, and RaceView also has a mobile version that offers many of the full RaceView benefits, including the 3D visualization of the races. So you do have your options if you can’t tune in to FOX.
