NASCAR Bristol 2013: Friday photo gallery

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway is one of the most important on the schedule as teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series prepare for its first true short track test of the season.

Austin Dillon led the Nationwide Series morning session with a speed of 124.186 mph. The afternoon session, which was marred by a vicious three-car accident on the backstretch was paced by Kevin Harvick with a lap time 123.889 mph. Nationwide Series qualifying will begin on Saturday morning at 10:35 a.m. EST. The race will begin later that day with the green flag dropping at 2 p.m.

Sprint Cup Series qualifying was contested on Friday with five-time track winner Kyle Busch securing his first ever pole at the Tennessee half-mile with a lap time of 14.813 seconds at 129.535 mph. Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Brian Vickers and Paul Menard concluded the rest of the top-five.
