Racing fans everywhere will have all their attention turned to Kansas Speedway this weekend as NASCAR takes over. Denny Hamlin won the race last April, and a win on Sunday on the 1.5-mile track would do wonders as he attempts to make his way towards the top of the Sprint Cup standings.
NASCAR Kansas 2013 schedule: Denny Hamlin looks for checkered flag again
The STP 400 hits Kansas Speedway this weekend.

In 2012, Hamlin held off a final charge from Martin Truex Jr. on the final lap to claim the checkered flag. Jimmie Johnson finished in third.
Johnson, who has 269 points thanks to two wins and five top-10 finishes in seven races this season, currently holds an 18-point lead in the standings over Kyle Busch.
Perhaps the key storyline to watch for this weekend is if any driver can break through for a third time at Kansas. Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Johnson have all reached Victory Lane twice; a win on Sunday would mark the first time a driver has won three times at Kansas Speedway, as this NASCAR.com article details.
The 2013 STP 400 is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 21. FOX will televise the race live.
Qualifying for the STP 400 is on Saturday. Last year, A.J. Allmendinger won the pole with a top speed of 175.993 mph. Kevin Harvick finished right behind Allmendinger in qualifying at 175.747 mph.
