MOBILE, Ala. -- Following a fourth-place finish in the Rubber and Specialties 125 at Five Flags Speedway on Friday night, Daniel Hemric took a 15-point lead in the Southern Super Series (Late Model tour) championship battle.

Bubba Pollard won the first two races of the season (at Nashville and Gresham) and entered Pensacola as the championship leader but was unable to maintain his advantage after a dramatic accident relegated him to 17th in the final order.

While Hemric wasn’t able to win the race, he survived three late-race accidents and rode a top-five to the top spot entering Saturday night’s race at Mobile International Speedway. TJ Reaid won that race and moved up to seventh in the standings.

Augie Grill won the third race of the season at Montgomery but was a non-factor at Pensacola. He remains third in the standings ahead of Mike Garvey and Stephen Nasse. The complete standings can be found below. Keep in mind that standings are unofficial until after Saturday night’s race at Mobile, once the Series finalizes the standings.
