NASCAR Talladega Aarons Dream Weekend 2013 Friday Photo Album

Although there was the threat of rain, Mother Nature was kind to Talladega Super Speedway on Friday.

Nationwide qualifying concluded with Travis Pastrana winning his first career pole. He will be joined on the front row by Austin Dillon. Trevor Bayne, Danica Patrick and Justin Allgaier round out the top five for the Nationwide race. Green flag for the Aaron's 312 is scheduled for 3 pm ET Saturday (weather permitting).

The Sprint Cup cars were on the track for all their practice sessions for the week. Due to the threat of rain, Cup drivers were attempting to lay down as fast a lap as they could in the first practice session since that would set the field should qualifying be rained out. The top five in that practice session were Carl Edwards, Martin Truex, Jr., Marcos Ambrose, Joey Logano and Ryan Newman. Cup qualifying is scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 12:10 ET (weather permitting).
