NASCAR Nationwide Series at Richmond International Raceway lineup: Brian Scott starts in pole position

Scott and the rest of the field will try to make up ground on series leader Sam Hornish Jr.

The NASCAR circuit hits Richmond for a busy weekend of action as the Nationwide Series season winds down. With just a handful of races remaining, time is running short for drivers to make a move and catch Sam Hornish Jr. atop the standings. Prior to Friday night’s race, the starting lineup has been set.

In the pole position will be Brian Scott driving the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet after qualifying in 21.717 seconds, reaching just upwards of 124 mph. Next to Scott in the front row will be Matt Kenseth. In the second row in the third and fourth spots, respectively, will be Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski

Hornish, who currently holds a 10-point edge on Dillon atop the standings, will start in the fifth position alongside Alex Bowman. A full look at the starting positions can be found here.

The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 is scheduled to begin around 7:45 p.m. ET. ESPN will televise all of the action live. Marty Reid, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree will call the race from the booth.
