NASCAR Martinsville 2014 schedule: Brad Keselowski looking for 1st win at The Paperclip

The Eliminator Round in the Chase for the Cup kicks off on Sunday.

Jeff Zelevansky

NASCAR returns to Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Va., for the 2014 Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 on Sunday. The race is the first of the Eliminator Round in the Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship.

Jeff Gordon, who won the race (and accompanying custom-built grandfather clock) last year, is firmly within the top eight in the NSCS standings. He’s an eight-time winner at Martinsville in NSCS races. Last week’s winner, Brad Keselowski, is also still alive in the chase. He’s looking for his first win at Martinsville, a small, unlit track known for producing an old-school, hard-nosed racing feel. In fact, Keselowski is the only one of the top eight drivers without a win at any of the next three tracks.

“[At] Martinsville, I think we have four top 10s in the last five races,” Keselowski said during media day festivities on Tuesday. “We have the potential to win at any of the next four races.”

“I feel really good about it. I’m not racing the stat book.”
