NASCAR Kansas 2014: Start time, TV schedule for Hollywood Casino 400

The Contender Round gets underway on Sunday, and Kevin Harvick has the pole for the Hollywood Casino 400.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Contender Round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins on Sunday with the Hollywood Casino 400. Kevin Harvick is in pole position after posting a fast lap of 197.621 mph. It’s his eighth pole of the season, the most of any driver.

One driver to watch for in this one will be Jeff Gordon, who made a big statement the last time out. Gordon -- who qualified fifth -- took over Sunday’s race at Dover International Speedway with 71 laps remaining, and he held his place all the way through to the end. He’s one of the 12 remaining playoff contenders who have a shot at winning it all.

Kansas is always an entertaining circuit, though it does favor early front-runners. We’ll see if Harvick can maintain his lead from the beginning. The race coverage is set to begin at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN. Pre-race coverage will begin an hour before with NASCAR Countdown set to kick off at 1 p.m.
