A fight between Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski broke out on pit road following the NASCAR race Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. Upset with Keselowski, Gordon stopped on pit road and quickly got out of his car and proceeded to confront Keselowski. A shoving match then ensued with both Keselowski and Gordon emerging with cuts on their faces.

Fireworks erupted on pit road with Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski going at it.
“He’s just a dipshit,” said Gordon, bleeding from his mouth in an interview with ESPN. “I don’t know how he ever won a championship.”
A restart with two laps to go saw Keselowski attempt a bold three-wide pass of Gordon and Jimmie Johnson when he and Gordon made contact. Gordon suffered a flat tire, which led to a spin and necessitated a pit stop. He finished a lap down in 29th. Keselowski placed third. Johnson would win, with Kevin Harvick second.
“There was a hole and I went for it,” Keselowski said. “It closed up and we bounced off each other and kept going. It was just a battle for the win.”
Harvick was also involved in the fracas. As Keselowski and Gordon exchanged words, Harvick approached Keselowski from behind and gave him a shove in the back. Harvick explained that if Keselowski is going to race the way he does, he needs to be held accountable and fight.
“I mean if you are going to run into people all the time you are going to have to fight your own fight,” Harvick said. “So, I helped him get into it.”
This is the second post-race scuffle Keselowski has been involved in recently. His other was with Matt Kenseth last month at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Angered by how Keselowski raced him and an incident on pit road, Kenseth jumped Keselowski from behind in the garage. Denny Hamlin, Kenseth’s teammate, was also upset with Keselowski following that same race and had to be restrained by crew members.
Without victories in the Round 3 of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, Gordon and Keselowski each needed a win Sunday to assure advancement to the championship finale Nov. 16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“I wish we would have gotten a better finish out of it, but we didn’t,” Keselowski said. “It was hard fought. I am doing everything I can to win this race and stay in the championship hunt.”
