DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The national anthem for the 56th running of the Daytona 500 will be sung by Aloe Blacc, Daytona International Speedway officials announced Friday.

Blacc is most recognizable for his song “The Man,” which was recently featured in Beats By Dre commercials and has sold 900,000 copies. He also collaborated with Avicii on “Wake Me Up,” which hit the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 list and topped the charts in more than 100 countries.

Blacc’s new album, “Lift Your Spirit,” will be released March 11.

Track officials have already announced a pre-race concert featuring country singer Luke Bryan. Actor Gary Sinise will serve as honorary starter and wave the green flag to start the race. A grand marshal has yet to be named.

“Aloe Blacc is recognized around the globe for his smooth vocals, so it’s only fitting he perform at the ‘World Center of Racing’ in front of more than one hundred thousand race fans and millions more watching on Fox,” track president Joie Chitwood III said. “We look forward to hearing his moving rendition prior to the start of NASCAR’s richest and most prestigious race.”

The Daytona 500 is Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. ET and will air on Fox.
