Rapper 50 Cent returns to Daytona 500 as Swan Racing sponsor

A year after trying to kiss Erin Andrews on pit road, 50 Cent is returning to the Daytona 500.

Rapper 50 Cent will be making a return trip to this year’s Daytona 500. Whether that means he again attempts to kiss Erin Andrews remains to be seen.

Born Curtis Jackson, the entertainer notably tried to kiss the Fox reporter on the Daytona International Speedway pit road just moments before the start of the Great American Race last year. The video of the botched attempt went viral and became a social media sensation.

Jackson, who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, will be attending the 2014 edition of the Daytona 500 as a partner of Swan Racing.

SMS Audio, a consumer electronics and headphones manufacturer company founded by Jackson, announced Tuesday it had signed on as an associate sponsor for both of Swan’s cars driven by Parker Kligerman and Cole Whitt. In addition to the Daytona 500, Jackson will “make appearances at races throughout the season,” the team said in a statement.

This news follows a bevy of announcements Swan made in recent months. The organization announced in December it was adding a second full-time team, and recently brought in businessman Anthony Marlowe as a minority owner.
