The Duck Commander 500 will begin Monday at noon ET with Fox providing television coverage.
Rain began falling at the speedway early Sunday morning. NASCAR made several attempts to dry the 1.5-mile track, but with rain continuing to fall officials made the decision to reschedule the race shortly after 7 p.m. ET. Hampering the track-drying efforts were weepers -- water coming up through the surface.
Monday’s forecast projects temperatures in the mid to upper 60s with a chance of rain, according to meteorologist Brian Neudorff (@NASCAR_WXMAN).
Although rain has delayed two races this season (Daytona, Bristol), this is the first postponement since July’s event at Kentucky. And NASCAR will not be the lone sporting event taking place in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Monday. Thirty miles away from the track, Connecticut and Kentucky will play for the NCAA men’s basketball championship at AT&T Stadium.
