NASCAR Nationwide Series at Dover International Speedway results: Kyle Busch rolls to victory; Trevor Bayne 2nd

Kyle Busch won Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, moving one step closer to completing the weekend sweep at Dover International Speedway.

Following a dominant victory in Friday’s Camping World Truck Series race, Busch turned in a similar performance on Saturday, leading 124-of-200 laps.

The day began with Joey Logano, the pole-sitter, looking for his fifth consecutive Nationwide win at Dover. He and rookie Chase Elliott would lead the first 76 laps, as Busch, who struggled to find speed in practice and qualifying, worked himself into contention.

But once Busch jumped to the lead on Lap 77 he never looked back, leading the rest of the way for his third Nationwide win of the season, and 66th overall.

“I just never got the feel I was looking for through practice and I was a little frustrated with that and a little frustrated in qualifying and just not having the speed I hoped to have, but it was good on the long runs,” Busch said.

Trevor Bayne was second followed by Logano in third. Matt Kenseth and Elliott were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Busch will have an excellent chance at completing a three-race sweep, as he starts alongside No. 1 qualifier Brad Keselowski Sunday. He is the only driver to ever accomplish the Truck-Nationwide-Cup triple, doing so in 2010 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“I think our chances are pretty good,” Busch said of winning Sunday. “We start up front, which is great here always, and if we can stay up there most of the day and fine tune on her and tweak on her a little bit we can probably be right back (in Victory Lane).”
