Clint Bowyer is now locked into long-term contract for both his professional and personal lives. The newlywed signed a three-year extension with Michael Waltrip Racing on Monday.
Clint Bowyer, Michael Waltrip Racing sign contract extension
Clint Bowyer signed a multi-year contract extension with Michael Waltrip Racing, along with sponsor 5-Hour Energy and crew chief Brian Pattie.

The contract will keep Bowyer with MWR through the 2017 season, and coincides with multi-year extensions for sponsor 5-Hour Energy and crew chief Brian Pattie.
“This is big news for all of us,” Bowyer said. “It creates great stability and excitement about what the next few years can bring. MWR is my racing home and continuing this relationship with 5-hour Energy was a high priority. It’s time to put the paperwork in a drawer and focus on winning.”
Bowyer joined MWR in 2012, winning three races en route to a runner-up finish in the championship. He followed up with another Chase for the Sprint Cup run last year, but went winless and ranked seventh in points.
The news capped an eventful few weeks for Bowyer, who married his wife, Lorra, in the Bahamas during the Sprint Cup off-week two weeks ago, and announced Monday on Twitter that the couple are expecting a boy.
