NASCAR Michigan 2014 schedule: Dale Earnhardt Jr. shoots for consecutive Sprint Cup Series wins

Dale Earnhardt Jr. looks for his third win at MIS in the Sunday main event.

After breaking Jimmie Johnson’s two-race win streak and taking the checkered flag in the Pocono 400 last week, Dale Earnhardt Jr. enters the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday in third place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings.

Earnhardt Jr.‘s win at Pocono was his second of the season, and a third would help him gain ground on leader Jeff Gordon and current runner-up Matt Kenseth, the latter of which hasn’t won since the Budweiser Duels at Daytona but is the owner of 10 top-10 finishes. Earnhardt is only two years removed from his last win in the Quicken Loans 400 and has won a pair of NSCS races at Michigan.

Here’s a schedule of events leading up to the main race, which will fire up at around 1:16 p.m. ET on the final day of the weekend, courtesy of Jayski. All times Eastern.
