NASCAR Michigan 2014: Kyle Larson to become new dad
NASCAR’s top rookie and his girlfriend are expecting the couple’s first child in December.

Larson posted a sonogram on his Twitter feed shortly after disclosing the news Friday at Michigan International Speedway. The 21-year-old rookie is 10th in points in his first season with Chip Ganassi Racing and has turned heads with his performance including a runner-up in March at Fontana and a fifth-place run last week at Pocono.
“We have been a top 10 car every week pretty much,” Larson said. “It really is fun. I’m having a blast this year. A lot of stuff going on. Me and Katelyn just found out we are having a baby so it’s a really exciting time. How good the racing has been going, a new house, all that and now that, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Paul Menard and David Ragan, whose wife gave birth Wednesday, are drivers who have become first-time fathers this season. Clint Bowyer will join when his wife delivers the couple’s first child within the next few months.
