NASCAR Kentucky 2014 schedule: Quaker State 400 headlines race weekend

NASCAR makes its lone stop in Kentucky this weekend. Here’s what’s going on, and when.

Andy Lyons

The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide circuits head to the Bluegrass State this weekend for the lone event at Kentucky Speedway in 2014. The 17th of 34 races during the NSCS season is the Quaker State 400, which will get going at approximately 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Matt Kenseth, who won the race last last year, hasn’t won at all in 2014 since the first Budweiser Duel race at Daytona. However, he enters the weekend in fourth place in the NSCS standings by virtue of 10 top-10 finishes. Carl Edwards took his second checkered flag of the season last week and sits in sixth in the standings. Edwards has never won at Kentucky, in its fourth year of hosting an NSCS event. Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski won the first two versions of the Quaker State 400.

No matter who wins, the experience of NASCAR weekend is always an enjoyable one. To make this one even more enjoyable for you, here is a schedule of the major events taking place around the pair of races, courtesy of Jayski.com:
