2014 NASCAR at Kentucky Speedway weather forecast

While it doesn’t look like a washout for the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, there could be showers and storms on Saturday.

Last year rain postponed the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, and while rain is in the forecast for this weekend I don’t think this years race sees the same fate.

Weather forecast for Friday afternoon across the Blue Grass state will be hot, humid and although high pressure in control across the region and a rogue storm can’t be ruled out later this afternoon and evening for Sprint Cup qualifying and and Nationwide qualifying and race. Odds of racing the Nationwide Race tonight at around 90%

Chance of scattered showers and storms increases for Saturday thank to the departing area of high pressure and a weak disturbance that will work across the region. The best chance for scattered storms will be in the afternoon with the threat of rain diminishing as we go into the evening.

A storm could delay the start of the Quaker State 400 but I still think we get the race in this year. I have racing odds for Saturday night’s race at around 75%.
